Hey there peeps 🙂 Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Are you ready?
Ben and I don’t really celebrate it anymore. . . We did celebrate the 1st Valentines Day that we were together, which would have been February 2013, but then decided that it isn’t really a holiday for us. Not that either of us hate it or are against it in any way. It has just become so commercialized, and restaurants jack up their prices for special dinners and brunches. We just don’t feel it’s necessary at the moment to spend all of that extra money and have it go to these big commercialized businesses. It wasn’t a holiday I celebrated very much growing up except in school with those fun little cards and candy. Sometimes my dad would get my mom flowers. But hey 😉 I know a lot of people like it, so they / YOU should celebrate if you want to!
If you are one of those who like to celebrate this fun holiday — and haven’t gotten your special someone a little something just yet, well you’re in luck! I’ve come up with a list of some simple DIY things you can do, and other items for purchase:
(1) Give your special love a selection of red and pink Jelly Belly jelly beans. Need some help with which flavors are red and pink?
1st here are the red ones:
- sour cherry
- very cherry
- jewel very cherry
- red apple
- cinnamon
- sizzling cinnamon
- strawberry jam
- raspberry
- pomegranate
- Tabasco
Here are the pink ones:
- strawberry cheesecake
- strawberry daiquiri
- bubblegum
- cotton candy
If you want to throw some white into the mix there’s:
- coconut
- french vanilla
- A&W cream soda
- toasted marshmallow
You can put the Jelly Belly beans in a cellophane bag with a nice red bow… simple and inexpensive, but looks very nice!
FYI – Jelly Belly isn’t sponsoring this post in any way, nor am I getting compensated by them. I just thought this was a fun easy DIY thing, and I really love Jelly Bellies. 🙂 ♥
(2) Write a love letter or poem for your special someone.
(3) What about a heart-shaped ice cube mold (like this one from Fred & Friends?) 🙂
(4) An InstantPot — it’s the new cooking contraption everyone is talking about!!

As always — I love to hear from you! 🙂
