Growing up I used to watch Star Trek The Next Generation (and later Deep Space Nine) with my Dad. Really, it’s because of my dad that even know what Star Trek is in the first place!! It wasn’t really until later when Zachary Quinto did the Star Trek reboot that I really understood about the original Star Trek (with Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, George Takei, etc) that my dad used to watch.
